Project Scope

GONOTAAR emerged as the defining digital voice of Bangladesh’s 2024 pro-democracy movement, establishing itself as the media platform for a new generation demanding change. Our challenge was to create a visual identity that would embody the courage, urgency, and unwavering spirit of the movement while maintaining the credibility of a serious news organization. The identity needed to be instantly recognizable across digital platforms and serve as a visual rallying cry for the nation.

Our Approach

We immersed ourselves in the movement’s ethos—its digital-native organization, its clarity of purpose, and its demand for systemic reform. The design process focused on creating a visual language that balanced revolutionary energy with journalistic integrity. Every element was crafted to function with maximum impact across digital platforms, from social media to live news coverage, while symbolizing the movement’s core values.

The Final Brand Identity

Logo

The identity centers on a bold, custom-designed wordmark that combines strong, geometric forms with subtle organic curves. This represents the union of structured reform and human-centric values. The typography stands with authority while maintaining distinctive character that sets it apart from traditional media institutions.

Color Palette:

The strategic color system features a powerful combination of Cardinal (#C01E2E) and Pure Black:

This high-contrast palette ensures maximum visibility and memorability across all digital platforms while conveying the high-stakes nature of Gonotaar’s mission.

Visual System:

The identity extends into a flexible system of graphic elements including custom icons, typographic hierarchies, and motion graphics—all maintaining the same clarity and boldness as the core identity.

Outcome

The GONOTAAR brand identity has become synonymous with the movement itself—appearing everywhere from protest banners to smartphone screens. It provides a cohesive and powerful presence that unifies various communication channels while maintaining the urgency and integrity of its mission. The identity successfully positions GONOTAAR as both a trusted news source and a symbol of democratic aspiration—bold, uncompromising, and visually distinctive.
